What is Portuguese Electronic Passport (PEP)?
The Portuguese Electronic Passport (PEP) is a travel document (Portuguese: Passaporte Electrónico Português) issued by the Portuguese government. PEP is issued to Portuguese nationals with a valid citizen card or identity card. PEP contains an electronic chip; the chip holds the identification data of its holder: name, date of birth, place of birth, signature, digital photograph, and other biographic information. The electronic passport may be requested at the Portuguese consular offices of your residence area.
